Claude Community Kenya
Built and structured the community infrastructure for Claude Community Kenya — a growing professional AI community across Nairobi and beyond.
Problem
Kenyan developers and professionals had no dedicated space to learn, share, and build with Claude. Informal WhatsApp groups lacked structure and signal-to-noise ratio was poor.
Solution
Co-organised CCK from the ground up — designed the group structure across seven professional lanes (Founders, Developers, Consultants, Marketing, Students, Finance, Legal), wrote the community rulebook, and ran technical events including AI workshops and the first Claude Code event in Kisumu.
Outcome
Active growing community with structured professional sub-groups. Events run across Nairobi and Western Kenya in partnership with Zone01 and ALX.
Community systems design, not software architecture. The structure had to scale signal as membership grew: a two-track model (engineers; builders & vibe coders) across Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu/Western, backed by a WhatsApp and Discord stack and a written rulebook. I helped design and build the community's front door at claudekenya.org.

- Splitting engineers from builders and vibe coders keeps each track's signal relevant — technical depth on one side, shipping momentum on the other — instead of one channel serving nobody well.

- Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu/Western each anchor local events and lanes, with Anthropic Ambassador support — a distributed network, not one city's group chat.
